Finding FRisson

There’s a thrill when designs clicks, when everything aligns so perfectly it sends a shiver through you. That’s frisson, and I felt it long before I knew its name. As a kid, I found it in building Lego, some elaborate, some strange, all driven by a need to create and improve.

I believe great design lives at the intersection of empathy, structure, and innovation. My process begins with understanding human behavior and user needs, then rigorously testing solutions until they meet both functional requirements and aesthetic excellence.

Fast forward: My perspective shifted somewhere along my math journey,

The Fibonacci sequence (an ancient sequence that guides nature, art and design),

became a touchstone for that frisson again. Suddenly, numbers weren’t just numbers; they were patterns hidden in nature, structure of architecture/products, composition in art/photos. They were in the details that feel natural because they’re grounded in a bigger, invisible logic.

That really stuck with me.

Fast forward: somewhere along my math journey, my perspective shifted. The Fibonacci sequence

(an ancient sequence that guides nature, art and design), became a touchstone for that frisson again. Suddenly, numbers weren’t just numbers; they were patterns hidden in nature, the structure of architecture/products, and composition in art/photos. They were in the details that feel natural because they’re grounded in a bigger, invisible logic. Integrating human emotion and interactions so intuitively.

I really resonated with that.

Those patterns kept following me everywhere... My curiosity embraced it, I applied them into my work and creative passions. Here's the thing: it felt like a magnetic, effortless pursuit and I was captivated by how the smallest details could shape the grandest picture. When I realized I could create that wonder for others, I was floored.

The Sum of All My Parts

Funny thing is I used to hate math. Absolutely dreaded it in high school. Over time it became my silent mentor, teaching me that the best solutions are born from harmony: the tenacity to keep searching, the patience to think deeply, and the discipline to master every detail. It's an ethos I carry into every part of my life. Helping me navigate challenges, to embrace the grit within the process. Whether it may be physically, through design, or in life.

It’s also kept my curiosity alive, grounded me in the smallest details. I’ve explored my creative ambition, honed solutions, and discovered the elegance of systems linking emotion, value, and behavior through design. There was something out there that could like all of this.. So I was curious.. What is the sum of all my parts? What might be the missing Lego?

I’ve built, rebuilt, and discovered how every piece links to something larger. Still, I can’t help but wonder: What do all these blocks add up to? And am I still searching for that one missing Lego?

Pursuing the square root

Every chapter has been a test, every turn an iteration, like one big design sprint.

The truth? the root of my answer was in my equation all along.

As an experience product designer, I create with the same instinct as I had as a kid with Lego. The patterns still come, yet now I pursue them - to this place where logic, beauty, compassion, and detail co-exist in harmony (thanks fibonacci).

I adapt my process as the tools evolve, still designing for the frisson, experiences that evoke feeling, and the irreplaceable moments of connection.
